Rabbit Warren Update 1

“Attention, unknown forces!” A young-sounding voice dominated the comms. The speaker couldn’t have been older than twenty. “This is Star Commander Kord of Clan Coyote, Rho Galaxy. This site has been captured and cleared by Rho Galaxy in the name of the Khan! Stand down and withdraw immediately, or we will be forced to assume you are hostile!”

“What do you think, Nephilim-1?” Angel Stefanov asked, transmitting the entire message over an open frequency in typical Clan style. The Legion preferred to communicate over text, but for the time being they were pretending to be a normal unit. She dropped her crosshairs over a blue-painted JagerMech standing on the hill. Its paint was flaking away, revealing gray primer beneath. She’d have chalked that up to a sloppy hastily-done camouflage job, but it was simply too old to be anything but neglect. The only paint on the JagerMech that looked relatively new were the bright prisoner-orange stripes on the ‘Mech’s shoulders, and even that was beginning to chip around the armor seams.

“Angel-1, they are lying. Obviously,” Came the Nephilim-1’s reply. He played the part of a haughty Clanner well enough. “Star Commander Kord, if you truly serve the Khan, you will stand down and permit us to inspect this site.”

“We can’t let you do that, interloper,” the young Clanner spat. “We have our orders. You face the Rho Galaxy, 58th Battle Cluster, Upsilon Trinary, Star Two. Prepare yourselves for death.”
